Local Talent

My wife and I went to the Bistros on 5 Points this past Friday and listened to "Main Street", a local rock band.  These guys are pretty good.  Edgar does a mean job both on guitar and lead vocals, I never knew he could sing so well.  Ray Arambula plays an awesome bass and Edgar's little brother is the tazmanian devil on drums.  Together, they do an awesome job on the songs they cover.  If you ever get a chance to go and hear them, I recommend that you do, you won't be disappointed.

New Project

Hey all you +"Windy City" fans, we are in the first stage of writing our own music to go along with the great music of +Chicago.  As of right now, all we have are the lyrics, but our keyboard player, Arthur Compean, is in the process of putting the music to those lyrics.  Hopefully, this will come together before this year is over so we can work on them, get the songs right and then go into the studio to record them.  Stay tuned.  Remember that +"Windy City", El Paso, Texas' tribute band to +"Chicago", will be performing at the canyon for "Cool Canyon Nights" on May 23, 2013.  Hope to see you all there.  In the meantime, keep on rockin' to the Music of +"Chicago" as brought to you by +"Windy City".

Nove Luna Gig

Had a great time at Nova Luna this past Sunday, the 3rd of March as +"Windy City", El Paso, Texas' tribute band to +Chicago performed for a leukemia fund raiser.  Got a lot of compliments from the crowd and especially from the Manager, Alonso, of the club, who, by the way, had never heard of +"Windy City", much less, heard us perform.  He came backstage and said, "You guys are awesome."  We'll take that any day.  The guys are working hard in getting ready for our upcoming gigs this Spring, Summer and Fall.  Hope to see a lot of you out there.  Until then, keep on rockin' to the music of +Chicago, as brought to you by +"Windy City, El Paso, Texas' tribute band to +Chicago.

Just finished watching the history of the Eagles.  Awesome documentary.  I like what Don Henly said, "It's great to be in a real band" and I am so happy to be in +"Windy City", El Paso, Texas' tribute band to +Chicago.  I also like when he referred to what Mick Jagger said, "It's only rock n roll, but I like it", and yes I do.  If you've never been in a band, you've not experienced the awesomeness of being in one, especially one that plays your favorite band's music.  What a feeling.  We also get a rush from playing in front of an enthusiastic crowd, their energy feeds us and our energy.  Thank you for your support of music and the music of +Chicago.

The Beginning

In the Windy City of Chicago, on a cold February day, 1967, 6 young men got together to work on making their dream come true, which was to start a rock and roll band using horns as a major voice of the band.  These young men went on to create one of the top selling rock and roll bands in the world, which at first was called "The Big Thing", then "Chicago Transit Authority" to finally what they are now known as simply "Chicago".  After 45 years of touring, they continue to influence many musicians across this world.  That influence hit El Paso, Texas in the fall of 2004 which initiated the beginning of "Windy City", El Paso's tribute band to "Chicago". Since then, "Windy City" has performed in front of thousands of "Chicago" fans eager to hear their music and also gathering a substantial folowing for the next to the real thing.  It has and continues to be our pleasure and privilege to be able to provide "Chicago" fans the opportunity to play this music when ever we get the chance.  Since its "beginnings", "Windy City" has gone through numerous personnel changes along the way.  At present, the band is composed of 8 talented and dedicated musicians that love and enjoy the challenge of playing the music of "Chicago".  We have a combined musical experience of over 350 years and "Feeling Stronger Everyday".  As the year goes on, we will be posting articles that will include performance dates, pictures and some personal bios on each member of the band. On top of that, we will be posting links to musically related businesses and opportunities that you, our fans, will be able to take advantage of.  Stay tuned and stay young with the music of "Chicago" as brought to you by "Windy City".
